No. You can explore the world and cook without one. An account just saves your cook book and lets it follow you across devices.
Take a photo of your ingredients. Copper reads them right on your phone (nothing is uploaded), then suggests a dish from another country you can make with what you have. If it misses something, add it by hand.
They are estimates, adjusted to your region, to give you a rough idea. Real prices vary by shop and season.
Every country, all three dishes per country, no ads, and your full cook book. It is an auto-renewing subscription you can cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.
Settings → Delete account. It removes your profile and cook book from our servers for good.
