How to make Luqaimat

  1. In a bowl, combine 250 g of all-purpose flour, 7 g of yeast, 50 g of sugar, 1 g of salt, and 1 g of cardamom powder.
  2. Gradually pour in 200 ml of warm water, mixing until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the bowl with a cloth and place it in a warm spot to let the dough rise for 30 minutes until it doubles in size.
  4. In a deep pan, heat enough oil over medium heat at about 180°C (350°F) for frying.
  5. Shape the risen dough into small balls, around 2 cm in diameter, for frying.
  6. Carefully add the shaped dough into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown on all sides for about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings and drain them on paper towels for excess oil.
  8. Serve the luqaimat hot, drizzled generously with 100 g of date syrup for sweetness.
