How to make Dolma

  1. Rinse 200 g of grape leaves in cold water, then soak them in hot water for 10 minutes until softened.
  2. Chop 1 onion into small pieces for sautéing.
  3. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. In a bowl, mix 100 g of rice, 250 g of ground beef, sautéed onion, 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper until well combined.
  5. Take a grape leaf and place a spoonful of the filling near the stem. Roll it tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  6. Arrange the rolled dolmas snugly in a pot with the seam side down.
  7. Drizzle the dolmas with 100 ml of lemon juice and add 250 ml of water carefully to the pot.
  8. Cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes until the rice is cooked and the flavors meld together.
