Qutab recipe
Delicious stuffed flatbreads filled with savory goodness.
Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 200 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 300 g ground lamb
- 1 unit onion
- 50 g fresh herbs
- 50 g butter
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Qutab
- In a bowl, combine 300 g of all-purpose flour, 150 ml of water, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Mix the ingredients until a dough forms, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Finely chop 1 onion and a handful of fresh herbs before mixing the filling.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, herbs, 400 g of ground lamb, and season with 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Divide the rested dough into 8 small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle, about 20 cm in diameter.
- On one half of each circle, place about 2 tablespoons of lamb filling.
- Fold the other half over the filling and press to seal the edges securely.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook each qutab for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the qutab from the skillet and serve warm with yogurt or a side salad.
