Ingredients
- 800 g beef chuck
- 2 unit onion
- 4 unit garlic
- 500 ml beef broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 unit bay leaves
- 500 ml water
- 400 g potatoes
How to make Seswaa
- Cut 1.5 kg of beef chuck into 3 cm chunks and season each piece with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
- In a large pot, heat over medium heat and brown the beef chunks for 10 minutes until they are browned on all sides.
- Chop 1 onion and mince 2 cloves of garlic for the next step.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for 5 minutes until the onion is soft.
- Pour in 1 liter of beef broth and 500 ml of water to the pot.
- Add 2 bay leaves and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 2 hours until the beef is tender.
- After 2 hours, add 500 g of diced potatoes to the pot, cover, and cook for an additional 30 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
