How to make Cheese fondue

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with a cut garlic clove to impart flavor.
  2. Grate 200 g of gruyere cheese and 200 g of emmental cheese, then add both to the fondue pot.
  3. Pour 300 ml of dry white wine into the pot and heat gently over low to medium heat.
  4. Stir the mixture until the cheese melts and becomes smooth, about 10 minutes, watching for a consistent texture.
  5. In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until smooth.
  6. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the melted cheese to thicken it, ensuring it's well combined.
  7. Season with black pepper to taste, starting with a pinch and adjusting as desired.
  8. Transfer the pot to a fondue burner to keep it warm during serving.
