Halloumi recipe
Savor the crispy, salty delight of grilled halloumi!
Ingredients
- 400 g halloumi cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 unit lemon
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 10 g fresh mint
How to make Halloumi
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot, around 180°C (350°F).
- Slice 250 g of halloumi cheese into 1 cm thick slices, ensuring uniform pieces for even cooking.
- Brush both sides of each halloumi slice with 1 tablespoon of olive oil evenly.
- Grill the halloumi for about 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip the halloumi and grill the other side for another 2-3 minutes until it browns.
- Remove the grilled halloumi from heat and squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the top.
- Chop fresh mint leaves for garnish and set aside.
- Serve the halloumi slices on a plate, garnished with chopped mint and a sprinkle of black pepper.
