Misir wat recipe

Ingredients
- 250 g red lentils
- 1 unit onion
- 4 unit garlic
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 2 tbsp berbere spice
- 750 ml vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Misir wat
- Rinse 250 g of red lentils under cold water, then let them drain in a bowl.
- Chop 1 onion, 2 garlic cloves, and 1-inch piece of ginger for cooking.
- In a pot over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil for 1 minute.
- Sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes until it becomes translucent, stirring occasionally.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of berbere spice, then add the rinsed lentils to the pot.
- Pour in 750 ml of vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes until the lentils are tender, stirring occasionally.
- Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste, then serve warm in bowls.
