Ingredients
- 500 g ground lamb
- 1 unit onion
- 2 unit carrot
- 150 g peas
- 2 unit garlic
- 250 ml beef broth
- 800 g potatoes
- 50 g butter
- 100 ml milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
How to make Shepherd's pie
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) to prepare for baking.
- Chop 1 onion, 1 carrot, and mince 2 garlic cloves. Sauté these in a pan over medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add 500 g of ground lamb to the sautéed vegetables, cooking until browned for about 8 minutes.
- Stir in 100 g of peas and 200 ml of beef broth. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until warmed.
- In another pot, boil 600 g of diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes, then mash with 50 g of butter and 100 ml of milk until creamy and smooth.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly in a baking dish, then carefully top with the mashed potatoes, smoothing the surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and slightly crisped.
