Fufu recipe
Delight in the smooth, starchy goodness of fufu.
Ingredients
- 500 g cassava
- 300 g plantains
- 1000 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Fufu
- Prepare 500 g of cassava and 500 g of plantains by peeling and chopping them into small chunks.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the cassava and plantains.
- Cook the cassava and plantains for 20-25 minutes until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Drain the water from the pot and transfer the cassava and plantains to a mixing bowl.
- Using a potato masher, mash the mixture for about 5 minutes until it achieves a smooth and stretchy consistency.
- Shape the fufu into balls about the size of a golf ball for serving.
- Place the fufu on a serving dish and cover it gently with a clean cloth to keep warm until ready to serve.
- Serve the fufu with your favorite soup or sauce for dipping.
