Pepperpot recipe

Ingredients
- 500 g beef
- 1000 ml water
- 2 tbsp peppercorns
- 1 unit cinnamon stick
- 5 unit cloves
- 4 unit garlic
- 1 unit onion
- 2 tbsp browning sauce
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1 unit hot pepper
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Pepperpot
- Cut 1 kg of beef into bite-sized pieces and season with 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Before you begin, gather all ingredients including 1 onion and 3 garlic cloves.
- In a large pot, heat to medium and brown the beef on all sides for about 10 minutes.
- Add 1 chopped onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, and 1 finely chopped hot pepper; sauté until fragrant, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Pour in 1.5 liters of water and add 1 tablespoon of peppercorns, along with 1 cinnamon stick and 4 cloves.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of thyme and 2 tablespoons of browning sauce for added flavor.
- Bring the mixture to a full boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1.5 hours until the beef is tender.
- Check the seasoning and adjust with more salt, if needed.
- Serve hot with rice or bread on the side for a complete meal.
