How to make Baleada

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add 250 ml of water to form a dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal balls, rolling each into a flat tortilla about 0.5 cm thick.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through.
  5. Spread 50 g of refried beans evenly on each tortilla. Top with cheese, sliced avocado, and a dollop of sour cream.
  6. Fold each tortilla in half, pressing gently to seal the fillings inside.
