How to make Kubba

  1. Soak 250 g of bulgur wheat in water for 30 minutes until it softens well.
  2. Finely chop 1 onion and heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes until it becomes golden brown in color.
  4. In a bowl, combine 300 g of ground beef with the sautéed onion and 50 g of pine nuts.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper to the mixture; stir until well mixed.
  6. Take the soaked bulgur and shape it into discs about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each disc and fold the edges tightly to seal.
  8. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, ensuring it's hot enough for frying.
  9. Fry each kubba for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Once cooked, remove from the pan and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
  11. Serve the kubba warm with yogurt or a fresh salad on the side.
