How to make Samsa

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 g of flour with 200 ml of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes covered with a clean kitchen towel in a warm place.
  3. Finely chop 1 onion and grate 1 carrot. Sauté them in 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add 500 g of ground beef and 1 teaspoon of black pepper to the pan. Cook while stirring until the meat is browned, around 8-10 minutes.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough into a thin layer, about 2 mm thick, using a rolling pin.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into circles, each around 10 cm in diameter, ensuring even sizes for uniform cooking.
  7. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle, then fold and seal the edges tightly.
  8. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Arrange the samsas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake the samsas in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Allow the samsas to cool slightly before serving for better flavor and texture.
  11. Serve warm as a snack or appetizer, with dipping sauce if desired.
