How to make Lok lak

  1. Slice 500 g of beef sirloin into thin strips, measuring out 60 ml of soy sauce, 30 ml of lime juice, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper for marination.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with the soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, and black pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Rinse 200 g of rice under cold water, then cook according to package instructions until fluffy and tender, around 15-20 minutes.
  4. While the rice cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Add the marinated beef strips to the hot pan and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  6. While the beef is cooking, slice 1 cucumber into thin rounds and dice 1 tomato for garnish on the dish.
  7. Once the rice is ready, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to serving plates as a base for the beef.
  8. Place the stir-fried beef on top of the rice and arrange the sliced cucumber and tomato on the side for garnish.
  9. Serve immediately while hot, offering lime wedges on the side for an extra flavor boost.
