Tam mak hoong recipe
A zesty green papaya salad bursting with flavor!
Ingredients
- 500 g green papaya
- 100 g carrot
- 60 ml lime juice
- 30 ml fish sauce
- 20 g palm sugar
- 2 unit chili
- 50 g peanuts
- 100 g green beans
How to make Tam mak hoong
- Peel 400 g of green papaya and 100 g of carrot using a vegetable peeler, then shred them into thin strips.
- In boiling water, blanch 100 g of green beans for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside to cool.
- In a bowl, mix 60 ml of lime juice, 30 ml of fish sauce, and 20 g of palm sugar until fully dissolved and combined.
- Add the shredded papaya, carrot, blanched green beans, and 1 chopped chili to the bowl for flavor.
- Toss all the ingredients together gently until evenly mixed, about 2 minutes.
- Garnish the salad with 30 g of crushed peanuts before serving for added texture.
