How to make Couscous

  1. Measure 500 ml of water and bring it to a boil in a pot, then stir in 1 tsp salt.
  2. Add 300 g couscous to the boiling water, cover the pot, and let it steam for 10 minutes.
  3. While the couscous steams, chop 1 carrot and 1 zucchini into small pieces.
  4. In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Add the chopped carrot and zucchini to the pan and sauté until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in 200 g canned chickpeas and 1 tsp cumin to the pan, mixing well.
  7. Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  8. Fluff the cooked couscous with a fork and gently mix in the sautéed vegetables before serving warm.
