Fakoye recipe

Ingredients
- 800 g chicken
- 2 unit onion
- 400 g tomato
- 100 g peanut butter
- 500 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 unit carrot
- 400 g sweet potato
How to make Fakoye
- Chop 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, 1 carrot, and 1 sweet potato before starting the cooking process.
- In a large pot, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat until shimmering, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Sauté the chopped onion for about 5 minutes, until it turns translucent and aromatic.
- Add 500 grams of chicken pieces to the pot and brown them on all sides for around 7-8 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomatoes and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, mixing well for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in 400 milliliters of water, stirring to combine all ingredients together.
- Add the diced carrot and diced sweet potato, along with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Simmer the mixture for 45 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Plate the dish, ensuring chicken and vegetables are evenly distributed, and serve warm.
