Buuz recipe
Delicious Mongolian dumplings filled with juicy meat.
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 unit onion
- 2 unit garlic
- 100 ml water
- 400 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
How to make Buuz
- In a large bowl, mix 400 g of flour and 1 tsp of salt until combined.
- Gradually add 200 ml of water to the flour mixture until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes in a cool place.
- Chop 1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic finely for the filling preparation.
- In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, garlic, 500 g of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of pepper until well combined.
- Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thickness.
- Cut the rolled dough into 10 cm circles using a cutting tool or cup.
- Place 1 tbsp of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle.
- Fold the edges over the filling and seal the dumplings tightly by pinching them together.
- In a steamer basket, arrange the dumplings carefully without crowding them.
- Steam the dumplings on high heat for 20 minutes until fully cooked and tender.
