How to make Buuz

  1. In a large bowl, mix 400 g of flour and 1 tsp of salt until combined.
  2. Gradually add 200 ml of water to the flour mixture until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes in a cool place.
  5. Chop 1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic finely for the filling preparation.
  6. In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, garlic, 500 g of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of pepper until well combined.
  7. Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thickness.
  8. Cut the rolled dough into 10 cm circles using a cutting tool or cup.
  9. Place 1 tbsp of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle.
  10. Fold the edges over the filling and seal the dumplings tightly by pinching them together.
  11. In a steamer basket, arrange the dumplings carefully without crowding them.
  12. Steam the dumplings on high heat for 20 minutes until fully cooked and tender.
