How to make Nsima

  1. Boil 500 ml of water in a large pot and add 1 teaspoon of salt, stirring to dissolve.
  2. Gradually stir in 200 g of maize flour, mixing continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  3. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly for about 10 minutes, until thickened to a porridge-like consistency.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for another 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly for 2-3 minutes before serving.
  6. Shape the cooked nsima into round balls using wet hands for easy handling.
  7. Serve hot, alongside your favorite relish or dish of choice on a plate.
