How to make Suya

  1. Soak the skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. Cut 500 g of beef sirloin into thin strips and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Blend 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, and 1 inch of ginger with 1 teaspoon of cayenne and 1 teaspoon of salt into a smooth paste.
  4. Combine the blended paste with 100 g of ground peanuts and 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil until well mixed.
  5. Coat the beef strips thoroughly in the mixture and marinate for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium heat before threading the beef onto the skewers.
  7. Thread the marinated beef strips onto the soaked skewers tightly.
  8. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
  9. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve on a plate with your choice of sides.
