Lapskaus recipe
A hearty Norwegian stew packed with flavor!
Ingredients
- 500 g beef
- 600 g potatoes
- 300 g carrots
- 200 g onion
- 1000 ml beef broth
- 2 unit bay leaves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Lapskaus
- Cut 500 g of beef into bite-sized pieces and brown in a pot over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Chop 600 g of potatoes, 2 carrots, and 1 onion; add them into the pot and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Pour in 1 liter of beef broth, adding 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp of salt, and ½ tsp of black pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 1.5 hours, covered.
- Remove the bay leaves after simmering, and discard them.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
