Ingredients
- 800 g cassava
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 unit banana leaves
- 500 ml water
How to make Saksak
- Peel and chop 500 g of cassava into small pieces about 2 cm each.
- In a pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil over high heat.
- Add the chopped cassava to the boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes until soft.
- Drain the cooked cassava using a colander and mash it until smooth.
- Stir in 200 ml of coconut milk and 1 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
- Prepare banana leaves by laying them flat on the counter.
- Take the cassava mixture and wrap it in the banana leaves tightly.
- Steam the wrapped cassava for 30 minutes until heated through.
