How to make Saksak

  1. Peel and chop 500 g of cassava into small pieces about 2 cm each.
  2. In a pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil over high heat.
  3. Add the chopped cassava to the boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes until soft.
  4. Drain the cooked cassava using a colander and mash it until smooth.
  5. Stir in 200 ml of coconut milk and 1 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
  6. Prepare banana leaves by laying them flat on the counter.
  7. Take the cassava mixture and wrap it in the banana leaves tightly.
  8. Steam the wrapped cassava for 30 minutes until heated through.
