Musakhan recipe

Ingredients
- 800 g chicken
- 2 unit onion
- 100 ml olive oil
- 2 tbsp sumac
- 50 g pine nuts
- 4 unit flatbread
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Musakhan
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to start preparing the Musakhan.
- Season 1 whole chicken with salt and black pepper, then rub 2 tablespoons of sumac herb all over the chicken.
- In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Sauté 2 sliced onions in the olive oil until they are golden and caramelized, around 8-10 minutes.
- Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes each side.
- Transfer the browned chicken and onions to a baking dish and roast in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and set aside briefly to rest.
- Serve the roasted chicken over pieces of flatbread, ensuring to include the caramelized onions on top.
- Sprinkle 30 g of toasted pine nuts over the chicken and onions before serving.
