Uru recipe
A delicious Palauan dish of marinated fish and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 500 g fresh fish
- 100 ml lime juice
- 1 unit onion
- 2 unit tomato
- 1 unit cucumber
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
How to make Uru
- Cut the fresh fish into bite-sized pieces, approximately 2 cm each, using a sharp knife.
- In a bowl, combine the fish with 3 tablespoons of lime juice, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, mixing well.
- Chop 1 onion, 1 tomato, and 1 cucumber, adding them to the fish mixture for extra freshness.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the mixture marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- After marinating, stir the mixture once more for an even distribution of flavors.
- Prepare a serving plate by placing lettuce leaves or other greens as a base.
- Spoon the fish mixture onto the prepared plate, arranging it neatly.
- Serve chilled, making sure to enjoy it fresh for the best flavor.
