Chipa recipe
Deliciously cheesy bread bites from Paraguay!
Ingredients
- 250 g manioc flour
- 200 g cheese
- 100 ml milk
- 1 unit egg
- 50 g butter
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Chipa
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) to get it ready.
- In a bowl, measure and combine 2 cups of manioc flour and 1 teaspoon of salt, mixing well.
- Melt 100 g of butter and mix it with 1 cup of milk, then gradually add this mixture to the flour while stirring.
- Crack 1 egg into the mixture and stir in 1 cup of grated cheese until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Form small balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and arrange them on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until they are puffed up and golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and let the chipa cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm as a delightful snack or appetizer.
