Ingredients
- 500 g maize flour
- 1000 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Ugali
- Measure 400 g of maize flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil over high heat.
- Add the measured salt to the boiling water and stir.
- Gradually stir in the maize flour using a whisk to avoid lumps, mixing well.
- Lower the heat to medium and cook while stirring continuously until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Once it thickens, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it rest for a few minutes to firm up before serving.
- Serve hot with your choice of sauce or vegetables, ensuring it holds its shape.
