Mutabbaq recipe
Delicious stuffed pancakes, perfect for any meal!
Ingredients
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 150 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 300 g ground beef
- 1 unit onion
- 1 unit green pepper
- 2 unit egg
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp spices
How to make Mutabbaq
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, ¾ cup of water, and ½ teaspoon of salt until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Chop 1 onion and 1 green pepper, setting them aside for the filling later.
- In a pan over medium heat, saute the chopped onion and green pepper until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add 500 g of ground beef to the pan and cook, stirring, until browned, approximately 10 minutes, then let it cool.
- Divide the rested dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece thinly into circles, about 8 inches in diameter.
- Spoon some beef mixture into the center of each circle, folding the dough over to enclose the filling tightly.
- In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat until shimmering, ready for frying the pancakes.
- Fry each filled pancake for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the cooked mutabbaq and place on paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.
- Serve warm, optionally with a dipping sauce on the side for extra flavor.
