Vyprazany syr recipe
Crispy fried cheese, a Slovakian delight!
Ingredients
- 400 g edam cheese
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 2 unit eggs
- 150 g bread crumbs
- 500 ml vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Vyprazany syr
- Cut 400 g of edam cheese into thick slices, each about 1 inch in width, keeping them even.
- Set up a breading station with 100 g of all-purpose flour, 2 beaten eggs, and 150 g of breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Coat each slice of cheese in the flour, dip it in the egg wash, and thoroughly cover with breadcrumbs.
- Heat 500 ml of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F), about 5 minutes.
- Carefully fry the cheese slices in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side until they are golden brown.
- Once fried, drain the cheese on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- While still hot, immediately sprinkle the cheese with salt before serving.
