How to make Crescia

  1. Dissolve 10 g of yeast in 200 ml of warm milk. Allow it to foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour, 50 g of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Add 2 beaten eggs and 50 ml of olive oil to the bowl. Then, pour in the foamy yeast mixture. Combine until just mixed.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl, cover it, and leave it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and place it into a greased pan. Allow it to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Bake the loaf for 30 minutes until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Remove the crescia from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
