Roti recipe
Deliciously soft and flaky flatbreads to enjoy!
Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 200 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
How to make Roti
- Gather all ingredients: measure 500 g of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 250 ml of water, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- In a large bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour with 1 teaspoon of salt; mix well with your hands.
- Gradually add 250 ml of water to the flour mixture, stirring with your hand to form a rough dough.
- Pour in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil; mix until fully combined and the dough is formed.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal balls and cover them with a clean cloth; let rest for 10 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle, approximately 25 cm in diameter.
- Preheat a skillet on medium heat for 2 minutes; cook each roti for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through.
- Remove each roti from the skillet and keep warm; serve alongside your favorite dish.
