Döner kebab recipe
Savor the delicious flavors of homemade döner kebab!
Ingredients
- 600 g chicken breast
- 200 g yogurt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 3 unit garlic
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 4 unit pita bread
- 100 g lettuce
- 2 unit tomato
- 1 unit onion
How to make Döner kebab
- Chop 3 cloves of garlic finely and set aside. Measure out 200 g of yogurt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- In a bowl, combine 500 g of chicken breast with yogurt, olive oil, garlic, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill or skillet over medium heat until it’s hot to the touch.
- Place the marinated chicken on the grill or skillet. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and no longer pink inside.
- Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice it thinly using a sharp knife.
- Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes until soft.
- Fill the warmed pita with the sliced chicken, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and sliced onion. Be generous with the fillings.
- Serve the filled pita with your favorite sauces or dips on the side.
