Ingredients
- 400 g rice
- 500 g lamb
- 200 g carrots
- 1 unit onion
- 3 unit garlic
- 100 ml vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Plov
- Chop 1 onion and slice 2 carrots. Measure 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 2 cups of rice, and 4 cups of water.
- Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate 500 g of diced lamb to the pot and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced carrots and 3 minced garlic cloves. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until aromatic.
- Add 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper to the pot. Mix well.
- Pour in 2 cups of rice and 4 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to low heat.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 30 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
