Ojja recipe
A spicy and flavorful Tunisian dish to savor!
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 unit onion
- 1 unit bell pepper
- 400 g tomatoes
- 200 g chorizo sausage
- 4 unit eggs
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
How to make Ojja
- Heat 3 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot and shimmering.
- Add 1 chopped onion and 1 diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in 200 g of diced tomatoes and 150 g of chorizo sausage. Cook until heated through, around 3-4 minutes.
- Season the mixture with 1 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp of paprika, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1/4 tsp of black pepper. Stir well to combine the spices.
- Create 4 wells in the mixture for the eggs. Crack one egg into each well carefully.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and yolks are still runny.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a minute before serving hot. You can garnish with extra herbs if desired.
