Lahmacun recipe
Delicious Turkish flatbread topped with spiced meat.
Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 250 ml water
- 7 g yeast
- 300 g ground lamb
- 1 unit onion
- 1 unit tomato
- 1 unit red bell pepper
- 30 g parsley
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
How to make Lahmacun
- In a mixing bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour, 7 g of yeast, 300 ml of water, and a pinch of salt.
- Knead the mixture for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a warm spot and let it rise for 30 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
- Finely chop 1 onion, 1 tomato, 1 red bell pepper, and a handful of parsley for the topping.
- In a heated pan, cook 300 g of ground lamb for 5-7 minutes until browned and crumbly.
- Add the chopped vegetables along with 1 tsp of paprika, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper.
- Cook the lamb mixture with the vegetables for an additional 5-7 minutes until everything is tender.
- Roll the risen dough into thin circles, approximately 20 cm in diameter.
- Spread the ground lamb mixture evenly on each circle of dough before baking.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C, then bake the lahmacun for 10-12 minutes until the edges are crispy.
