How to make Lagman

  1. Before starting, chop 1 onion, 3 garlic cloves, 1 carrot, 1 bell pepper, and 2 tomatoes in preparation.
  2. In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until hot.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in 500 grams of diced beef and cook until browned on all sides, around 7-10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Add the minced garlic, sliced carrot, and chopped bell pepper; continue to sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Incorporate the chopped tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper; simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. In another pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil over high heat.
  8. Add 250 grams of lagman noodles to the boiling water and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Drain the noodles and set aside in a bowl.
  10. Serve the noodles topped with the beef and vegetable mixture, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.
