Laplap recipe
Savor the tropical flavors of Vanuatu with laplap!
Ingredients
- 500 g taro
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 200 g banana
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 300 g pork (minced)
How to make Laplap
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel and grate 300 g of taro into a large bowl.
- Grate 1 banana into the bowl with the taro.
- In the bowl, mix the grated taro and banana with 400 mL of coconut milk.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the mixture.
- Stir until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 60 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Slice the laplap and serve warm.
