Ingredients
- 500 g pumpkin
- 200 g peanut butter
- 1 unit onion
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 250 ml water
How to make Mapopo
- Peel 500 g of pumpkin and cut it into small, even cubes for consistent cooking.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add 1 diced onion and sauté it until translucent, which takes about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped pumpkin to the pot and enough water to cover it completely.
- Cook until the pumpkin is soft, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
- Stir in 3 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1 teaspoon of salt until completely blended and creamy.
- Let the dish simmer on low heat for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm in bowls for a delicious meal.
