How to make Mantu

  1. Finely chop 1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic, then sauté them in a pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes until golden.
  2. Add 500 g of ground beef to the pan along with 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper; cook until the beef is browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. While the meat cooks, prepare your dough wrappers and keep them ready for filling once the meat mixture is done cooking.
  4. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each dough wrapper, careful not to overfill, and fold the edges to seal tightly.
  5. Arrange the filled dumplings in a steamer basket, placing parchment paper beneath them to prevent sticking.
  6. Steam the dumplings over a pot of simmering water for about 30 minutes until fully cooked and firm to the touch.
  7. After steaming, let the dumplings rest for 5 minutes to firm up before serving.
  8. To serve, place the dumplings on a plate, topping with 200 g of yogurt and garnish with 100 g of chickpeas.
