Chikanda recipe

Ingredients
- 200 g ground nuts
- 100 g cassava flour
- 500 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 50 ml palm oil
How to make Chikanda
- In a large bowl, mix 500 g of ground nuts, 200 g of cassava flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder until well combined.
- Gradually add 400 ml of water to the dry mixture, stirring constantly until a thick batter forms.
- Grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of palm oil and pour the thick mixture in, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Drizzle about 3 tablespoons of palm oil on the top of the mixture for flavor enhancement.
- Cover the baking dish with a lid and steam for about 45 minutes, or until the chikanda is firm to touch and cooked through.
- After steaming, let the chikanda cool for 10 minutes before cutting into pieces.
- Serve the chikanda with your choice of side, ensuring it's warm.
