How to make Coxinha

  1. Boil 500 g of chicken breast with 1 onion and 2 minced garlic cloves in water until cooked, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Remove the chicken and shred it into pieces.
  3. In a pan, melt 50 g of butter over medium heat.
  4. Add 1 chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in 250 g of flour and cook until golden, about 2 minutes.
  6. Gradually pour in 500 ml of chicken broth while stirring continuously.
  7. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens into a dough, about 5 minutes.
  8. Once cool, take small pieces of dough and fill each with shredded chicken, shaping them into teardrops.
  9. Beat 1 egg in a bowl; dip each shaped coxinha in the egg.
  10. Coat in 100 g of bread crumbs until well-covered.
  11. Fry in oil at 180°C until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  12. Serve hot.
