How to make Garudhiya

  1. Clean and cut the fresh fish into 4 equal pieces, setting them aside on a plate.
  2. Finely chop 1 onion and a piece of ginger, making sure the pieces are uniform.
  3. In a pot, combine 1 liter of water, the fish pieces, the chopped onion, and chopped ginger.
  4. Bring the mixture to a vigorous boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce to a simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  6. Add salt to taste and squeeze juice from 1 lime into the pot, stirring briefly.
  7. Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving.
  8. Serve the hot soup immediately with rice or bread, garnishing as desired.
