How to make Butter tarts

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare your baking space.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 125 g of all-purpose flour and 125 g of unsalted butter. Mix until crumbly and resembles fine sand.
  3. Press the crumbly mixture firmly into tart pans to shape the shells for the tarts.
  4. Place the formed tart shells in the refrigerator to chill for 15 minutes before filling them.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together 150 g of brown sugar, 100 ml of corn syrup, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and blended.
  6. Carefully pour the sweet filling into the chilled tart shells without overflow.
  7. Evenly sprinkle 50 g of raisins on top of the filling in the tart shells.
  8. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the filling bubbles and the edges turn golden brown.
