Wiener schnitzel recipe
Crispy, golden-brown schnitzels that delight!
Ingredients
- 600 g veal cutlets
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 150 g breadcrumbs
- 50 g butter
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
How to make Wiener schnitzel
- Prepare by pounding 4 veal cutlets to about 1/4 inch thick for even cooking.
- In a shallow dish, mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper.
- In another shallow dish, beat 2 eggs until well combined and set aside.
- Place 1 cup of breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish for coating the cutlets.
- Dredge each cutlet in the seasoned flour, then dip into the egg, and coat with breadcrumbs evenly.
- In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat for about 1 minute.
- Add the breaded cutlets to the skillet and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove the cutlets from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before serving with lemon wedges.
