Fufu recipe
Deliciously smooth and stretchy fufu to enjoy!
Ingredients
- 500 g cassava
- 300 g plantains
- 1000 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
How to make Fufu
- Peel and cut 500 g of cassava into evenly-sized chunks.
- Peel and cut 300 g of plantains into evenly-sized chunks.
- In a large pot, combine cassava and plantain chunks with enough salted water to cover, and bring to a boil.
- Boil for about 20 minutes over medium heat until the cassava and plantain are tender and easily pierced by a fork.
- Drain the cooked cassava and plantains using a colander to remove excess water.
- Using a potato masher or fork, mash the cassava and plantains together until smooth and free of lumps.
- Knead the mixture in the pot for about 5 minutes until it becomes stretchy and elastic.
- Shape the fufu into balls or place in a serving bowl, and serve warm alongside your favorite soup.
