Ingredients
- 800 g chicken
- 2 onions
- 4 garlic
- 20 g ginger
- 100 g tomato paste
- 100 g peanut butter
- 500 ml water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil
How to make Tigadege na
- Chop 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, and 1 teaspoon of ginger before starting the cooking process.
- In a large pot, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat until shimmering, which takes about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger to the pot. Sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add 1 kilogram of chicken pieces into the pot and brown them on all sides for approximately 10 minutes.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, mixing until fragrant for about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in 500 milliliters of water, stirring to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
- Season the mixture with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for 40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from heat and let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve the dish hot with rice or bread for a complete meal.
