Muhammara recipe
A smoky, spicy dip that's perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 2 red bell peppers
- 100 g walnuts
- 2 garlic
- 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
How to make Muhammara
- Roast 3 red bell peppers over an open flame or in the oven until charred and soft, about 20 minutes.
- Let the roasted peppers cool for a few minutes before peeling off the skin and removing the seeds.
- In a food processor, combine the peeled roasted peppers and 100 g of walnuts.
- Add 2 cloves of garlic, 4 tablespoons of pomegranate molasses, and 4 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl.
- Include 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, adjusting seasoning if necessary.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
- Serve the Muhammara with pita bread or fresh vegetables for dipping.
