Ingredients
- 400 g rice
- 800 g chicken
- 2 onions
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 carrots
- 4 garlic
- 60 ml vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 800 ml water
How to make Boulma
- Chop 1 onion, 1 tomato, and 1 carrot into small pieces and set aside for your dish.
- In a large pot, heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat for 1 minute.
- Sauté the chopped onion in the heated oil until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add 800 g of chicken pieces to the pot and brown them on all sides for 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomato, carrot, and 2 minced garlic cloves with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper; cook for 5 minutes.
- Add 400 g of rice to the pot and stir well to combine with the ingredients.
- Pour in 800 ml of water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.
- Serve the Boulma in a dish, enjoying it with family and friends.
