How to make Torta frita

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 g of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, and 1 tsp of salt.
  2. Pour in 200 ml of water gradually, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes at room temperature.
  4. On a floured surface, roll the dough to a thickness of about 1 cm, then cut into desired shapes.
  5. In a deep pan, heat 500 ml of oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  6. Fry each piece of dough in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  7. Remove the fried dough from the oil and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with sugar to taste.
