How to make Samsa

  1. Before starting, measure 500 grams of all-purpose flour and 100 milliliters of water, and prepare 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 egg.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 500 grams of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 100 milliliters of water.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth, then cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until hot.
  5. Sauté 1 chopped onion and 1 grated carrot until soft, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add 400 grams of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper; cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut it into 10 circles, roughly 10 cm in diameter.
  8. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each circle, fold the dough, and seal the edges tightly.
  9. Brush each samsa with 1 beaten egg to give it a golden finish.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, checking halfway through.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
